Bianca Morra Midterm

  1. I think the lighting on the photo of Rose could be a little more dramatic, I think it could use a shadow on one side of her face. The picture of the orange with the grapes looks a bit rushed, but it does come together. I really like the uneven cut of the orange, it almost looks like a sculptural piece.

  2. I love the paper/creature still life shot...wish It were mine to play with. I do like the shot of Rose I like it how it is, I would like to look at it in black and white. I like the portrait of Autumn only thing that bothers me is the hair loop on the right above the middle finger. I cant stop looking at it. In the radish/beet (? sorry!) photo, I'm a little confused whether its about the food or the model. Her expression takes me to her, but then I see how she's coming out of the dark kinda with the clothing...and I go back to the vegetable. Expression takes most of my attention. I like the colors. The other food is my least favorite. Interesting direction w/ the idea to me, and colors of fruit go together, but unsure of (coffee grounds?) and what is going on. Wonder if the grounds on the grapes are intentional.

  3. I like the paper still life, I almost want you to get a couple close up shots and a few at different angles. It could be really interesting. I love the final image, it's like the grapes grew out of the orange and fell to the plate and are ready to eat. The food image with the model is confusing. You automatically see the model first, and you relate to them more than the food. I felt the image you had with the hands holding the food up was more successful to show the relation between humans and food. I love the lighting on your color portrait. Her expression fits it so well.

  4. Kudos for trying something different with the food, but i feel like had you not given me the description you gave in class on your inspirations and why you did that, i would not have understood where you were going with them. I think the lighting for the Hollywood image of rose, could have been a bit more dramatic, and would probably be more effective in black and white, although i do like the styling of her hair, strong eyebrows and eye make up.
